In this blog post, I am listing out all things affordable and all things Indian. Every year, I travel to India and get my fair share of shopping for Desi/ Indian clothes. Wearing Indian clothes always keeps me connected to my culture. With this whole new situation of not being able to travel, I really miss celebrating Indian festivals. I decided to find Indian design brands that are based in the US and designers from India that ship to the US.
One of you suggested that I compile a list of South Asian brands that are based in the US or ship to the US. This is such a great idea with the upcoming festival season. This year has already been a struggle and it makes me miss India all the more. Wearing Indian clothes definitely lifts up my spirits. I have personally contacted all the brands mentioned below and I have listed out their contact details along with their Instagram accounts for your reference.
Pricing
All the brands mentioned in this blog post are reasonable (most of them are under $100!). Some of these boutiques have a variety of fusion wear (upwards of $200).

Hyperbole Accessories is a South Asian owned brand, designed in California, made in India. The founder of the brand, Ghazal Kothari, is always responsive and helpful on their Instagram handle (www.instagram.com/hyperbole_accessories). They have unique pieces of jewelry on their website and I purchased the Pink Tourmaline Necklace, (925 Silver and 18K Gold Plated) that I absolutely love. It comes with two customizable initials.
They offer a personal touch for every order. For instance, when the order is ready to be shipped they send a Whatsapp message with details of the order. I received the package in 2 days and was excited about the little hand written note they sent out with the order. They are very responsive and you can ask them for their recommendations if you are confused about any product.
Shipping: They charge $9.98 for priority shipping & taxes in the US. They ship worldwide.

Vastra is based in Atlanta, Georgia. They focus on beautiful South Indian designs. They are easily approachable on Instagram DMs (@DesignsbyVastra). Vastra was started by three passionate ladies to bring Indian outfits to the US. In addition to having wonderful designs, they can customize all outfits/ blouses in sizes 32-38. Most of their outfits are under $100. They are responsive and can be reached via Whatsapp. Contact details are mentioned on their Instagram handle.
In conclusion, I love their modern take on traditional materials and styles. Their saris are gorgeous and their blouses are vibrant. I found this brand through a recommendation by a follower. This is the reason why I continue blogging. Thank you for introducing me to such a great brand.
Maya Desi Boutique
Maya’s Desi Boutique is a great place for Indian outfits like saris and lehengas. They have amazing collection of Indian outfits and accessories, along with beautiful masks. Their Instagram account is where you can see their latest collection and you wouldn’t want to miss out on their Instagram stories. The owner Jeny, is very approachable and replies to all DMs. She shows unique sari drapes on her Instagram stories. This is one account you don’t want to miss! Most of their outfits and jewelry are under $100!
Kali Jewelers
Kali Jewelers is a Desi statement jewelry boutique that has unique Desi jewelry that can be paired with western outfits. This brand offers modern yet traditional designs and are instantly sold out with every launch. I love their collection and the owner, Anjali is very approachable via Instagram DMs.
Upscale Designer Boutiques
The Purpple Closet
The Purpple Closet is a Luxury Boutique based in Chicago. The owner, Yamini is very approachable and is easy to talk to. You can check out their latest collection via a video call. Their collection has a variety of modern Indian outfits, most of which are highly rated. Their designer saris are definitely a must-have. I love their quality and I think this is one brand waiting to be discovered.
Silk Threads
Silk Threads is a Bridal boutique based in Texas. Their owner, Ruby Bhandari is very approachable and you can reach them on their Instagram account. Their store is located in Texas. They hold virtual tours to showcase their latest collection. This customized service makes them unique. If you are looking for outfits for a special occasion, Silk Threads is definitely a great place.

Holi Chic by Megha is a contemporary South Asian fashion label that combines the goodness of Indian motifs in western outfits. This is a one-of-a-kind brand with unique designs that definitely stand out. Their collection is always an instant success. I love their designs and the modern take on Indian traditional motifs and bright colors. Definitely unique and you must check them out.
